Robbins Farm Flags and Flowers

The Friends of Robbins Farm Park invited members of the general public  to come to the park Saturday, June 1, to make artwork. The event was from 1 to 3 p.m. at the park, 61 Eastern Ave.

Their creations are intended to be used to decorate the construction fence surrounding the area where the new playground is going to be built.

All ages were welcome to help make pennant flags and to paint flowers on 12-inch discs, organizers said.

Art teacher Kathy Lobo and other volunteers supervised the artmaking effort, which will be in the area  near the dog statue at the top of the hill.

Art materials were being provided. Those taking part were using acrylic paint and permanent markers, so the advice was for participants to wear only clothes and shoes that they don’t mind getting stained.

Some smocks were be available -- but people were advised to bring their own if possible.
