Town partners with AFC Urgent Care, Armstrong Ambulance

The Arlington Health Department has announced a partnership with AFC Urgent Care Arlington, at 1398 Mass. Ave., to offer Covid-19 testing to Arlington residents.

Covid-19 imageThis comes on the heels of new guidance issued by the state Department of Public Health encouraging close contacts of individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19 to get tested regardless of symptoms.

Residents seeking to be tested must call AFC Urgent Care Arlington at 781-648-4572 to be prescreened.

Upon screening and approval for testing, residents will be assigned an appointment time.

The results are typically reported within 48 hours.

In conjunction with AFC Urgent Care Arlington, the Arlington Health Department will contact residents to inform them of their results.

Additionally, a drive-up testing time is scheduled for Thursday May 21, from 2 to 7 p.m., but residents must first call and obtain an appointment time.

The Town of Arlington has also announced a partnership with Armstrong Ambulance to provide testing at closed facilities and high-risk locations, such as group homes which have become an area of concern for potential cases as the close living arrangements appear to allow for the virus to spread rapidly.

Residents with a primary-care physician from the Beth Israel Lahey Health System, which includes Lahey, Winchester and Mount Auburn Hospitals, can continue to reach out to their physician if symptomatic to request testing.
