2020 virtual Special Town Meeting: All links

Town Meeting logo

UPDATED, Dec. 3:  On the request of Town Moderator John D. Leone, and in accord with Chapter 92 of the Acts of 2020, the Select Board of the Town of Arlington voted Nov. 4 to conduct the Special Town Meeting remotely beginning 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, and that occurred. The meeting will be held Mondays and Wednesday until all articles are heard. It adjourned Wednesday, Dec. 2.

It is hard to predict how many sessions that will be, because the first night saw many issues, and progress moved slowly.

The public views Town Meeting on ACMi’s government channel (Comcast 22, RCN 614, Verizon 26) and streamed live acmi.tv. View materials for the meeting at arlingtonma.gov/townmeeting.

Hearings for warrant articles began Monday, Oct. 19, and a summary was published.

The Select Board voted Sept. 14 to have a virtual Special Town Meeting starting at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16.

The board served notice that the warrant (agenda) for the meeting opened Monday, Sept. 21, at 8 a.m. and closed at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. During that period, articles were submitted to the Select Board office.

A paper copy was included in a townwide delivery of The Arlington Advocate before Town Meeting.
