Ostergren winners: Days, Callahan

Arlington High sports standouts Carolyn Days and Tyler Callahan have won the Frederick V. Ostergren Award, the Touchdown Club of Arlington has announced.

Days starred in soccer, ice hockey and outdoor track. She will be attending the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Callahan excelled in football, ice hockey and baseball. He will be attending Norwich University.

The award, presented June 2 in a cermony delayed by Covid-19, recognizes each year a female and male outstanding scholar-athlete at Arlington High School.

The award has been in effect since 1946 after Fred V. Ostergren, an outstanding AHS athletic coach and a charter member of the Touchdown Club, died July 4, 1945.
