The Arlington School Committee met at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 23, in hybrid session -- via Zoom and in-person at Arlington Public School District's office, 14 Mill Brook Drive, second floor.

Members went into closed session and then emerged to announce the district's agreement -- after several months of negotiations -- on a contract with Unit A of the Arlington Education Association, which represents credentialed teachers of the Arlington Public Schools.

The board was also scheduled to hear a report regarding summer programming and to hear a first read of district goals and half-a-dozen policies, plus an update on administrative hiring searches, grants, enrollment and class sizes.

Also in this meeting's agenda is a vote to renew the two-part Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) resolution pertaining to educator diversity and professional licensure.

This meeting is expected to be live-streamed online, broadcast on cable in real time and recorded for later posting online on YouTube by local nonprofit cable television station ACMi.
