UPDATED April 27: The Town of Arlington held a virtual hearing for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program on Thursday, April 20.
The draft plan is available for review and public comment at www.arlingtonma.gov/cdbg. The comment period is set to close at 4 p.m. Monday, May 8.
The town is completing a one-year annual action plan for the program for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The draft plan is available for review and public comment at www.arlingtonma.gov/cdbg.
CDBG is a HUD program created in 1974 under Title I, whose primary objective is developing viable urban communities. The aims for such communities are achieved by providing the following, principally for persons of low-and moderate-income:
- Decent housing;
- A suitable living environment; and
- Expanded economic opportunities.
