UPDATED, Oct. 9: Stroll down Mass. Ave. in Arlington Heights through October to enjoy 41 Halloween-themed painted windows in 22 business storefronts.

Throughout October shoppers and passersby can enjoy a rich variety of fun and creative designs painted by local residents, families, individuals, Girl Scout Troop 71042, and student groups from the Stratton School and Ottoson Middle School.

On Saturday, Oct. 2, more than 125 residents -- including families, individuals, artists and groups of elementary and middle school students -- spent the morning painting windows.

This event was organized by the Arlington Heights Community Association -- a group of Heights business owners, residents and nonprofits who meet monthly to address local issues and concerns, support beautification projects and organize public events and activities to promote vibrant community engagement.
