Evidence of gun shots on Laurel St. investigated

Arlington police and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office are investigating an incident on Laurel Street that took place about 2:50 a.m., Friday, Jan. 7, when police received a call from a resident reporting a disturbance, Chief Julie Flaherty has told YourArlington.

In an email Jan. 21, she wrote that the caller heard what she thought were gunshots in the area of Laurel Street. Officers responded and investigated the report.

"They did not locate or observe any type of disturbance," she wrote.

The following day, a resident reported seeing evidence of gunshots at a home on Laurel, a relatively short, dead-end street off Brattle. Detectives responded to the scene and confirmed this report, she wrote.

The incident remains under investigation and involves a juvenile.
