110 attend as firefighters drop chocolate gelt

UPDATED, Jan. 7: An estimated 110 people attended or participated as chocolate gelt dropped 25 feet from a ladder truck by Arlington firefighters.

Luna Zakon-Bukiet‎ of the Center for Jewish Life in Arlington posted on Facebook Dec. 12 that a Chocolate Gelt Drop would take place from a truck with its ladder extended 25 feet at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at the main fire station in Arlington Center. And on that day, it did.

Held were Chanukah crafts and gifts plus a fire-safety demonstration.

Admission was free. The event was open to all.
