Arlington Center for the Arts presented “Poets Respond: Labor of Life,” featuring readings by the Alewife Poets that reflect on the artwork, themes and ideas in ACA's current exhibition of textile and fiber arts.

Moderating the event March 27 was in ACA's Shaira Ali Gallery was Jean Flanagan, Arlington's poet laureate.

This free poetry reading was open to the general public.

The Alewife Poets was founded in 1996 as a women’s writing group with the mission of supporting one another’s work. The group’s members are known throughout the region as performers, both together and separately, and they often read to benefit social or educational causes, a news release said.
