Arlington Commission for Arts and Cultural logo

The grants committee of the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture (Arlington Cultural Council) has announced the opening of the 2022 grant-application cycle on Sept. 1. All applications must be submitted on or before Oct. 15.

The committee offers annually grants that typically range from $150 to $1,000. A grant can be used for many purposes to benefit the community of Arlington, including using the arts to create cultural inclusion, to bring interpretive science or history to life or to address social or environmental justice.

The committee receives its funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. For the complete guidelines, click here >>

How to apply: Applications must be submitted online via the state website >>

Apply from Sept. 1 through Oct. 15. Late applications are not accepted.

Grant-writing workshop Sept. 22: The grants committee has scheduled a virtual grant-writing workshop for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22. The workshop will be held over Zoom, and registration is required.

This is an opportunity for applicants to learn more about how to craft a strong proposal and ask questions about the grant-application process.

Register for the workshop here >>

Grant-presentation sessions: After Oct. 15, the committee will schedule virtual sessions to present proposals. This allows the committee to make sure it has the most complete understanding of your proposal. These sessions will most likely occur in early December; all applicants will be notified about them.

The ACAC Grants Committee is part of a network of local cultural councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The program is the largest grass-roots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities annually. The state Legislature provides an annual appropriation to the state cultural council, which then allocates funds locally.

The committee is always looking for new members. To join, contact us at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
