In a recent news release, assistant director of Robbins library, Lara Vilahomat, announced the library's 'Arlington Reads Together' (ART) program is returning in March with the book "Solito" by Javier Zamora. The author is scheduled to join for a virtual conversation March 30.

 English NOW!, an Arlington-based group, offers English-language learners opportunities to practice their conversation skills, advance their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar and make connections in the community. Participants in these free conversation groups discuss varied subjects under the supervision of native speakers. Fox Walking Club

The walking group meets at the Fox Branch library’s front door and walks between 1.5 to 3 miles mostly along the Arlington Cultural District and Minuteman Bikeway. Weather permitting.

 Gentle Yoga and Meditation

5 to 6 p.m.

A gentle yoga and meditation class hosted by our local studio Lotus Yoga. This is a beginner-friendly class focusing on stretching, breathing and mindfulness. Guests can bring a yoga mat or use one of the provided chairs. Supported by the Friends of the Robbins Library.

Inspired by Lewis Hyde’s classic The Gift: Creativity and the Artist in the Modern World, GIFT, a feature documentary, pays tribute to something that can’t be measured or counted, bought or sold. In Washington Post film critic Michael O’Sullivan’s review, he observed that through the stories of four artists, Director Robin McKenna’s explores “the idea that culture has a value beyond cash — that both sides of the equation, both the getters and the givers, are enriched by something that doesn’t have a price tag, or at least not an obvious one.”Watch the trailer. New Book and Poetry Open Mic

Arlington’s Beehive Poetry Group invites you to the “New Book and Open Mic” series. Featuring readings from recent publications by local poets, followed by an open mic for other poets to share their work. January’s featured poets are George Kalogeris and Jennifer Freed. Introductions by Steven Rapp.  Open mic reading slots are set to be on a first come, first served basis and open 15 minutes prior to the start of each event.
