A late-winter snow storm closed public and Catholic schools in Arlington on Tuesday, March 19, various sources reported.
Snowfall totals in the Boston area were forecast at from four to six inches, and at leasst six inches had fallen in town by 8:30 a.m. Spring is due to begin Wednesday morning.
Arlington officials are working with state agencies to monitor the storm and resources will be deployed as needed.
Commuting conditions are challenging, and extra caution was advised. At 7 a.m. Tuesday, the town had issued no snow emergency parking restrictions or an announcement about trash collection.
However, not parking on roadways will help plowing operations.
After the storm, residents and businesses are reminded to keep public walkways clear in accordance to town bylaws.
