| Mass. Ave. reopens after Heights water-main break |
|
After a water-main break closed Mass. Ave. in Arlington Heights to traffic between Richardson (by Dunkin' Donuts) and Appleton Street (Video Horizons) Tuesday, July 20, the thoroughfare has reopened. Acting Capt. Robert Bongiorno wrote at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 21: "Construction is ongoing, but Mass. Ave. is now open. I do not know if full water service has been restored." John Bean, director of public works, wrote July 21 that water service was restored to the area by 7 Tuesday night. Bongiorno's 3:45 p.m. update Tuesday noted that Mass. Ave. remained closed "and will probably be closed well into the night." Traffic eastbound on Mass. Ave. was detoured at Richardson and westbound at Appleton. |
