| Postal parker peeves patrons |
A blocked driver aims to mail a letter ...
You could call this a post office pet peeve. Certainly, it appeared to leave many in front of Arlington's Court Street post office p.o.-ed on Thursday, July 1, about 4 p.m. I was meeting my family there so we could renew a passport for one of our daughters. While waiting, I watched traffic jam develop. A driver had parked a car near the row of drive-up mailboxes while she went into the building, apparently to mail something. I didn't hear her say this, but I could imagine: "It'll only be for a minute."
... after awhile, the blocker makes her get-away.
Meanwhile, drivers seeking to drop off letters from their cars could not reach the boxes. They had to park, get out and walk to the box. Other frustrated drivers lined up behind. After a number of minutes, the parked, only-be-a-minute driver emerged, shrugged, got in her car and drove away. Drivers behind her shook their heads. What's your parking peeve?
