Here is information about the 2009 Town Meeting in Arlington, Mass., which began Monday, April 27, and ran until Wednesday, May 13, in Robbins Auditorium in Town Hall. It resumed Monday, June 8, and ended Monday, June 15, focusing on financial issues, including town and school budgets.

State of the Town Address, 7 p.m., April 27

The Board of Selectmen and Vision 2020 invited all Arlington residents to the annual State of the Town Address given by Kevin Greeley, Chairman, Arlington Board of Selectmen.

Mayor of Nagaokakyo Japan Addressed Town Meeting, 8 p.m., April 27
This year, Mayor Yutaka Oda from Nagaokakyo, Japan addressed Town Meeting to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Nagaokakyo and Arlington.

The public is welcome to attend Town Meeting, but is restricted to balcony seating. Only Town Meeting members are allowed on the floor while Town Meeting is in session.

Town Meeting meets every Monday and Wednesday at Town Hall until all warrant articles are voted upon. Each session begins at 8 p.m. and, in most cases, ends at 11 p.m.
