The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application is online. The primary objective of CDBG is the "development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities principally for persons of low and moderate income," per Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as amended.

The town expects to receive $1,020,887 in new grant funds for CDBG Year 38 (July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013).

Applicants will present their proposals and requests for funding at a hearing scheduled or Monday, Feb. 27, with the Board of Selectmen. Proposals should be delivered to the Department of Planning and Community Development by Monday, Feb. 20, so selectmen can see requests before their meeting.

All requests for funds must be submitted in writing using the funding application form. The form and a link to the CDBG regulations may be found in the Community Development section of arlingtonma.gov/planning
