| Middlesex Sheriff DiPaola endorses Kennedy for Governors Council |
Kennedy
Middlesex Sheriff James V. DiPaola has announced his support of attorney Terry Kennedy of Lynnfield in his effort to become the next Governors Councilor from the Sixth District in Massachusetts. DiPaola cited Kennedy's 27 years as a trial attorney, his knowledge of the court system and his judgment. "Judges matter!" DiPaola said in a news release from Kennedy's office. "Justice for the accused and equally important, for the victim(s) of a crime, depends on appointing judges who not only understand the law and how to accurately apply it, but who also understand that fairness and impartiality are the twin bedrocks that guarantee your confidence in our justice and court system. Terry Kennedy gets it!" For Republicans, Paul A. Caruccio of Winthrop is the lone declared cadidate. The Sixth District includes Arlington as well as all or parts of 20 other cities and towns. The primary election is set for Sept. 14. Among those endorsing Kennedy's candidacy are state Sen. Ken Donnelly of Arlington, state Rep. Sean Garballey of Arlington, and Michael Callahan, the current sitting Governor’s Councilor from Medford, who has chosen not to seek reelection this year. |
