Arlington High School wants the Ed Burns Holiday Hockey Classic home, permanently having the December tournament at the Summer Street rink. After 18 years with a rotating host, sports leaders aim to revitalize the hockey program.

Burns was the head coach of the hockey program at Arlington High School for 50 years and compiled a 695-167-62 career record, with eight state and Eastern Mass. championships and 28 league titles. The 695 wins are the second most all time by a high school hockey coach.
