2 women receive Tosti scholarships

Tosti scholarship winners

The Nora Tosti Memorial Scholarship Fund awarded its first scholarships to two Arlington women this year.  Checks for $1,000 were presented to Amanda Gaeta and Rachel Jimenez by Nora’s parents, Allan and Barbara Tosti.

Amanda Gaeta is a 2007 graduate of Minuteman Regional High School. She is studying for an associate degree in early childhood education at Middlesex Community College.

Rachel Jimenez is a 1996 graduate of Arlington High School. She is studying for an associate degree in early childhood education at Bunker Hill Community College. She has a 10-year-old daughter and is employed at Children’s Village in Cambridge.

The Nora Tosti Memorial Scholarship Fund will award a $1,000 scholarship each year to an Arlington resident working toward a certificate or associate degree in healthcare or childcare.  Nora was studying to be a medical assistant at the time of her death, in December 2005.
