Kelly Clenchy

Eric Ely, a superintendent in Schenectady, N.Y., was interviewed publicly Wednesday, March 17. Kelly Clenchy, who leads the district in Glenburn, Maine, was interviewed Tuesday, March 16.

The School Committee is scheduled to meet with the superintendent search subcommittee on 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, before the regular meeting that night, when a decision could be announced.

ACMi, the Arlington Studio, is broadcasting the interviews for both finalists from 6 to 10 nightly through Wednesday, March 24, on the education channel of your provider: RCN, 13; Comcast, 9; and Verizon, 24.

Christopher Farmer, one of three finalists for Arlington's permanent superintendent, was hired by the district in Triton, Mass. Leba Heigham, chair of the superintendent search subcommittee, confirmed a Web site report, which says Farmer topped Clenchy. A March 15 report notes the vote was 8-1. On March 16, The MetroWest Daily News reported that Clenchy is also among five finalists in Marlborough. Ely is also a finalist in Erie, Pa., and Billings, Mont.
