The Arlington Police Department responded to and is investigating the death of a 22-year-old Conor Fairbairn of 55 Tanager St., who died overnight at his home of a single gunshot wound, police Chief Fred Ryan reported Saturday, Dec. 3. The incident is believed to have been an accident, Boston.com reported, quoting a spokesman from the Middlesex District Attorney's Office. "Preliminarily, the matter does not appear to be a suicide and the circumstances of his death remain under investigation by the Arlington Police Department, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office," he wrote in an email. An autopsy has been scheduled, and the medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, he wrote, adding "no other information will be released at this time." Police reports show that officers were called to the first floor of the address at 10:49 p.m. Friday Dec. 2, and that police provided an escort at 17 minutes after midnight Saturday, Dec. 3. At 11:30 a.m Monday, Dec. 5, Capt. Richard Flynn responded to a question about what occurred: "At this point this is the information available. The case remains under investigation."
