| Arlington police July 4 -11: Car accident, trespassing, protective custody |
|
The Arlington Police Department responded to a wide variety of calls for service during the week of July 4-11. A sampling of those calls appears below. • On Wednesday, July 7, at 11:34 a.m. police were called to the intersection of Pleasant Street and Gould Road for a motor vehicle accident. Initial investigation and drivers’ statements appear to show a chain-reaction crash, with one vehicle striking another, and pushing it into the vehicle in front, involving four vehicles, one of which appeared to have fled the scene. A passenger in one of the vehicles experiences neck and back pain and was transported to a local hospital, no other injuries were reported. • On Friday, July 9, at 1:23 p.m., police were called to the East Arlington Walgreens for three youths on skateboards refusing to leave the property. The manager also thought they may have been involved in a previous shoplifting. Offices removed the three, ages 12-14, from the property, and a manager advised them not to return to the store. Patrol Officers Joe Dunn and Rajat Sharda responded. • On Saturday, July 10, at 6:50 a.m., police were called to Summer Street for a report of a woman lying on the ground. On arrival, officers found her and she stood up, but had trouble doing so, and was speaking incoherently. She told officers that she was too tired to walk home, and police took the 44-year old woman into protective custody. • On Saturday, July 10, at 3:19 p.m., police were called to Mystic Valley Parkway after a vehicle was stuck on the road after it flooded. The vehicle became disabled after being submerged in the water. The vehicle was towed and police closed the Parkway to prevent other drivers from entering the flooded road. Patrol Officers John Kelley and Rajat Sharda responded. |
