|
• On Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 1:07 p.m., police responded to a Lake Street residence to serve an arrest warrant. Jeffrey Davie*, 21, of Lake Street was taken into custody on the warrant from Cambridge Court. Responding officers were Patrol Officer Mike Foley and Patrol/K9 Officer Mike Hogan. • On Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11:28 a.m., police were dispatched to a Berkeley Street residence for a reported assault. The alleged victim claimed that her tenant pushed her and yelled at her during an argument because she is evicting him to let her granddaughter move into the apartment. However, police found the tenant “very calm and cooperative,†and he stated that had a civil matter with the landlord, but had not committed any crime. Additionally, the alleged victim had no visible injuries. Despite these circumstances, based on the landlord’s statements, police had to arrest the man for assault and battery on a person over 60. Patrol Officers Jen McGurl and Vitaly Volkov responded. • On Saturday, Feb. 27, police responded to an Appleton Street residence to investigate a junked motor vehicle left on the property in violation of town bylaw. Police found the vehicle, a 2000 Saturn, with no license plates and major body damage. Town bylaw prohibits the storage of junked vehicles. Police cited the owner for a bylaw violation. Patrol Officer Neil Simard responded. • On Monday, March 1, at 12:38 a.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Mystic Street for a reported motor vehicle crash. The accident occurred when a vehicle was stopped at a red light, and a second vehicle hit it from behind at a high rate of speed, pushing the first vehicle 10-15 feet through the intersection. The driver who struck the stopped vehicle was uncooperative, and police could smell alcohol on his breath. An unopened can of beer was later found in his car. He was taken to Beth Israel Hospital for treatment of a possible neck injury. Police will seek results of his blood alcohol testing at the hospital. The 28-year-old man is not named because he has not yet been arrested. Patrol Officers Scott Paradis, Brett Blanciforti, Brian Fennelly, and Brandon Kindle responded. *All arrested persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. |
