An 82-year-old Arlington woman was found drowned in Wellfleet near Indian Neck Beach Thursday evening, June 21, police have told Boston.com.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene at about 7 p.m. and pulled the woman, later identified as Barbara Benes, from the water and administered CPR.

They transported her to Cape Cod Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A Wellfleet police dispatcher said the death did not appear suspicious and that police believe the woman was out for a swim.

No further information has been released.
