Arlington police logoArlington police have charged a 49-year-old town resident after he allegedly licked the hand of an 18-year-old Arlington woman and fondled her near Papa Gino's. Arrested on charges of indecent assault was Joseph J. Fiorenzo of 222 Broadway.
Police reported that about 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6 the teen was walking to Papa Gino's, and after crossing Medford Street, she was approached by a man who asked what her name was, and she stopped to talk for a moment. She reported that the man grabbed her hand, brought it to his face and licked it.

Police said the woman attempted to move away, but the man had draped his arm around her shoulder tightly and fondled her. She pushed the man away and ran to Papa Gino's.

After police arrived, she provided a description -- a a tall man with dark hair, a mustache, a heavy build wearing a Red Sox sweater or jacket, blue jeans and black boots.

About 9 p.m., police picked up a suspect matching the description at 324 Mass. Ave., the teen identified him, he was charged and placed in a holding cell.
