The following information is from the Summer Street Neighborhood Association: One of our organization’s primary goals for this year is to improve the communication of the Summer Street Neighborhood Association's activities and to provide a venue for neighbors to reach us should they have any comments or concerns. A new yahoo.group site is the most effective method we have to reach our goal.
We do have a major obstacle though in that we have very few current emails in our database.
Please help us to improve neighborhood communications by telling your friends and neighbors about this new site and giving them the summerstreetneighbors@yahoo.com e-mail address.
Ask them to send us their name, address, phone and e-mail address (all of which will be kept confidential of course), and we will send them an invitation to join our private yahoo group.
We ask for everyone’s contact information for an important reason. Many times over the past two years, we have learned of events planned for specific streets/ intersections etc. that were not publicly posted. By having member’s contact information, we have been able to let them know in advance of these plans/events, thereby allowing them to be part of the public discussions/decision making processes. We think this is a very important role of our neighborhood advocacy group.
Summer Street construction -- when it was taking place -- in the summer of 2007, across from the Rec Center at Overlook.
For the past two years, our primary source of communication has been delivering newsletters and fliers door to door around the neighborhood. This is very costly and labor intensive, and we just cannot afford to continue this avenue of communication. Please help us, your neighborhood advocacy group, by spreading the word about our new yahoo.group site and encouraging your friends and neighbors who live in our area to join.
We define the Summer Street Neighborhood Association’s area to not just be Summer Street residents but instead to be the area of Town north and west of Mass Ave, which is also included. Summer Street is the center of this area which is roughly Precincts 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and 21.
We realize that any activity in this area affects all of us in one way or another. We not only welcome your comments and input but depend on you to be active in our group in order for us to achieve maximum impact. Please contribute to your neighborhood advocacy group your time, input and assistance in building our membership.
Thank you in advance for all of your help!

Things that shgould be looked into regarding the obtaining of a permit to operate . Bathrooms are not handicapped accessiable. Light pole is all rusted has not been painted in years is it safe etc. Foundation for old light pole is not fenced in and is a hazard for people walking .
