More than 500 supporters attended the kickoff Jan. 4 of Sean Garballey's campaign for state representative at the Arlington Son’s of Italy Lodge, according to a press release issued Jan. 6.
Garballey, a lifelong Arlington resident, vice chairman of the School Committee and a Town Meeting member, is seeking the seat previously held by Jim Marzilli in the 23rd Middlesex district.
At the event, he discussed his priorities and reminded supporters that
the primary is just four weeks away. The press release says:
“As a lifelong resident of this
district, I understand the issues that affect the quality of life for
the citizens of Arlington and Medford. As your state representative, I
will work hard every day to serve the people of this district and to
make progress for our communities and our state toward excellence in
education, adequate public safety resources, increasing local aid, and
meeting the social service needs of children, families, older adults
and veterans.”
Campaign volunteers will be canvassing local neighborhoods, making
phone calls and holding signs in advance of the primary, which will be
held Tuesday, Feb. 5.
Garballey is a graduate of the Arlington public schools and the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
