On Sept. 30, it announced its winner of the iPhone in a Town Day Treasure Hunt. Hundreds visited the Famboogle booth Sept. 20 and showed their knowledge of the Arlington community in seeking the G3 device. The winner was identified as "gunshin," presumably the contestant's user name.

The price is one iPhone G3 8GB valued at $199, but does not include any service plan. To activate this phone, the winner must purchase and activate a two-year contract from AT&T. The costs associated with this service contract are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Stay tuned for more contests.

As of Sept. 30, Famboogle has added 233 connections to Arlington since its inception in June.

Famboogle Arlington, launched with a networking event at the Regent Theatre last June 7, continues to attract an increasing number of local residents, organizations and businesses. Chuck French, development manager at Arlington’s Friends of Drama Theatre, said, "We have been looking for years for an effective way to communicate with the residents of Arlington. We have found it in Famboogle."

Famboogle founder and CEO, Alexander G. Lorenz, commenting on the importance of the platform said, “Well-connected communities are stronger communities. We at Famboogle give local communities the tools to establish, maintain and grow stronger connections. We are an open platform for all local residents, businesses, organizations and schools to efficiently and effectively gather and share resources and ideas.”
