'Much Ado' at ACA on July 27, 2008
'Much Ado About Nothing' comes off in a dry way at ACA on July 27.
The Arlington Center for the Arts presented the New England Shakespeare Company's version of the Bard's comedy "Much Ado About Nothing" on Sunday, July 27. Because of expected inclement weather, the play was performed inside at 41 Foster St., not in Menotomy Rocks Park, as had been planned. Linda Shoemaker of the ACA comments and refers to photos from the play >>

Shoemaker wrote to the Arlington list July 28:

"Thanks to everyone who came out for Shakespeare in the Park yesterday. We were forced to move indoors to the Arlington Center for the Arts Theater, but actors and audience alike had a great time.

"Many apologies to those who were turned away at the door. The theater was packed to its capacity with a standing-room-only crowd.

"For those who missed it, Arlington Community Media will broadcast the show on Arlington Cable during August. You can check their Web site or the weekly schedule [which is a line at this site ].

"The Arlington Center for the Arts extends many thanks to all those who have made Shakespeare in the Park a great summer tradition for eight years:

"The Friends of Menotomy Rocks Park

"The Friends of Robbins Farm Park

"The many community members who attend the annual Shakespeare in the Park fundraiser.

"All those who made individual donations at the event
