Eight veterans were willing to risk arrest after they occupied Rep. Edward Markey's office in Medfordon Feb. 20 and 21. They met with the congressman for 90 minutes, and Markey agreed to sign a pledge opposing supplemental funding for the war in Iraq, the veterans said. They said he was the first congressman to do so with the Occupation Project. The group of veterans and supporters, an estimated 50 people, were present.
