"While running a soccer practice at Hills Hill, my players found and I
cleaned up glass from broken beer bottles ON the far playing field, and
there was plenty more glass along the old stone wall beside the field,"
Steve Moniak wrote in an e-mail April 25.
"I took a photo of the glass I had collected and alerted soccer club
officers, then forwarded the photo and info to [Selectman] Diane Mahon.
"Our club president went down the field first thing Friday AM [April
25] to check out the situation and found the field and surrounding area
free of glass and debris; we have been told Diane contacted DPW, who
dealt with the issue immediately.
"I am told Diane also spoke with the APD about monitoring the source of the issue.
"Thank you, Diane, for being such a responsive public servant,
Arlington is blessed to have you working for us, and thank you DPW for
the rapid response to this matter."
