Learn the most current numbers on local aid for Arlington by following this link >> On July 13, Gov. Patrick approved the FY2009 state budget. The Division of Local Services has posted FY2009 cherry sheet estimates based on appropriation levels appearing in the budget approved by the Governor. The appropriations for Chapter 70, Lottery and Additional Assistance are consistent with the amounts in the legislative resolution approved last March 20.
FY2009 cherry sheets reflect an increase of $223.2 million in Chapter 70 aid, $2.8 million in Regional School Transportation, $5.9 million in Charter Tuition Reimbursements, $2.8 million in Police Career Incentive aid, $5.4 million in Veterans’ Benefits and $2.0 million in increased funding for the State Owned Land (PILOT) program over the FY2008 amounts.
The Division of Local Services has released the following Informational Guideline Releases (IGRs):
IGR 08-301: "Fiscal Year 2009 Payment Schedule for Cherry Sheet Programs," can be found here >>
IGR 08-301 provides municipal and regional school officials with information on the FY2009 payment schedule for Cherry Sheet programs. In addition, the guideline explains how assessments will be deducted from local aid distributions. This information will be useful for cash-flow analysis.

IGR 08-302 informs local officials of provisions of the FY2009 State Budget that allow cities and towns, under certain circumstances, to lower their minimum required contributions to local and regional schools under the Education Reform Act for FY2009.
