> Two years ago, after many years of toiling in the business of government Ed Cyr of Arlington turned 50, and decided that he wanted to do something that he "could wake up every day and be excited about," the former municipal worker in Cambridge wrote. "The answer had been hiding in the basement for all of my adult life and in fact reflected what I have been doing since childhood -- building. The result is e. Nelson Cyr, Residential Restoration & Period Construction.
"I am proud of what my small shop can produce and the craftsmen I have hired," wrote Cyr, who was a member of the committee that in 2005 and 2006 studied the town's financial structure.
