House lawmakers overwhelmingly approved a 4.4-percent increase in aid to cities and towns on March 12, Boston.com reported, as Senate and House leaders made public a proposed $223 million increase. They said the increase will bring the total amount of state aid to $5.26 billion for the fiscal year starting July 1.

Rep. Will Brownsberger has reported about an aid resolution that gives the Chapter 70 increases promised in the governor's budget and holds lottery and addtional assistance level without making them contingent on casino revenues.
The numbers in the resolution are the same as below except the gaming numbers (in the last three rows below) are not contingent on any further action.  The resolution may be viewed at http://www.mass.gov/legis/bills/house/185/ht04pdf/ht04595.pdf
