AHS Madrigals, Honors Orchestra in Italy, Feb. 2008

The Arlington High School Madrigal Singers and Honors Orchestra are in Calabria, Italy, and then will head to Greece, bringing audiences a variety of lovely music. Above are some of the participants among photos taken by Cheryl Hemenway Christo, AHS choral director.

The two troupes gave a farewell concert Feb. 8 at Lowe Auditorium under the direction of Christo and Pat Tassone, director of fine arts. Below, a view of the whole group with the mountains in Sicily as a backdrop as well as a view of Mount Etna.

The photo above was taken Feb. 16 in a little town called Grotteria in the Calabria region of Italy. It is also the town where Pasquale Tassone, director of fine arts was born.
