NEWS, VIEWS:
First, sign up. Go to the LOGIN form on the homepage, click on Register, and follow the instructions on the form.
(A screen will appear that says: "Your account has been created and activation link has been sent to the e-mail address you entered. Note that you must activate the account by clicking on the activation link when you get the e-mail before you can login.")
Clicking on the link provided in that e-mail will activate your account. You may then enter the username and password in the login screen on the left.
Next: At this point, it is best to shoot

an e-mail, and he will upgrade you to Author, which allows you to post to the site.
NOTE: If you have not provided your first and last names, you will be asked to supply them, as well as a street address and phone number. This information will remain private -- and is for the purposes of verification only.
Once logged in, look for YOUR MENU (a dropdown menu). Under Your details, you can
change your username and password. Under Submit news, choose a title and category, and then enter the information you want to submit. Best to copy and paste plain text -- not Word documents, or those with other formatting (make sure to uncheck word wrap in your plain-text file, or you will have to remove all the hard returns).
Save your information by clicking on the check icon, and the page remains for more writing or editing. To save and close out of the page, click the disk icon.

Note that Joomla! offers two windows for editing: In the top one you enter a brief summary; in the second, the bulk of what you're writing.
