Arlington team wins 2nd year of Energy Smackdown

Energy Smackdown logoA team from Arlington was the top scorer in the second year of a competition to see who could reduce its carboon footprint to the greatest degree. A team of Cambridge came in seond and one from Medford was third.

The Web site for the Energy Smackdown reported the Arlington team got 94,827 points, with Kayne receiving 51,932. Cambridge competiors got 49,939 points, with Klein-Botka receiving. Medford grabbed 45,725 points, with Hunt getting 32,859.

The winners celebrated June 17 at the Regent Theatre.

The Smackdown, conducted for two seasons thus far by the Brainshift Foundation, recruited households in Medford for a five-month competition in its first year.
