Do you see news happening? Write what you see. Is there a photo possibility? Snap it or record it. Do you have a strong opinion about an Arlington issue? Blog it. Do you know about an event that others might like to attend? Announce it.

Do you also want to advertise? Begin to do all of that by registering.

How do I submit news, an event or a photo? How do I advertise? Follow the instructions below, under NEWS, ADS.

How do I offer my opinions? Contribute to YourArlington.com's community blog (called Your View) or start your own. To reach Your blog, to submit news or to comment on an existing story, you have to register and be logged on.

NEWS, ADS

First, sign up. Click on the Register link at the top of the homepage and follow the instructions on the form.

A screen will appear that says: "Your account has been created and activation link has been sent to the e-mail address you entered. Note that you must activate the account by clicking on the activation link when you get the e-mail before you can login."

Clicking on the link provided in that e-mail will begin to activate your account, but you can't post yet.

At this point, it is best to shoot This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it an e-mail, and he will activate access that allows you to post to the site.

At this point, you may then enter your username and password in the login screen.

If you have not provided your first and last names, you will be asked to supply them, as well as a street address and phone number. This information will remain private -- and is for the purposes of verification only.

Once logged in, you will see Submit News on the menu at top right. Clicking it opens a window that allows you send news to YourArlington.

Choose a section and category for your story. Enter a headline and your story. Save your information by clicking on the check icon at top, and the page remains for more writing or editing. To save and close out of the page, click the disk icon.

To add basic formatting to your words (font style, color, insert hyperlinks, etc.), use the JCE editor in this Web site.

Important: An editor will review your submission before posting it, unless you have been granted rights to do so yourself. The publisher of YourArlington.com decides who may do what with regard to the site.
